Home Invasion in Evans - The Details
Columbia County authorities are investigating a report of a home invasion at 559 Blanchard Road in Evans that was reported Monday afternoon.
Here are the details directly from the incident report:
The complainant, 36-year-old Julie Pond, stated 4 to 5 black males entered her residence armed with handguns and rifles. She stated her husband, 33-year-old Thomas Combs was at the front door when the males entered the residence. She stated the males pointed their weapons at her husband and herself.
She stated 23-year-old Arthur Potter was asleep in his bedroom when the males entered the residence. She stated everyone inside was forced into the back bedroom at gun point. Once in the back bedroom everyone was ordered to lay on the ground. She stated the unknown black males then began removing telephones from the residence. She stated the males then advised everyone to remain on the floor until they left the residence.
Mr. Potter, victim number two, stated when the males left the residence he crawled over to the window attempting to view the registration plate on the vehicle. He stated he was unable to see their registration so he ran out of the house to the neighbors and called 911.
Mr. Combs, victim number three, stated he saw the males walking toward the front door of his residence. He stated as he approached the front door the males opened the door and ran in armed with handguns and riffles. He stated he and the other victims were then ordered to the back bedroom. He stated the males then removed all telephones from the residence and then removed items from inside the residence.
He stated after the males left Mr. Potter ran next door and called 911. It was undetermined what items and how many items the males took at the time of this report.
Upon my arrival I spoke with all victims involved. Written statements were obtained from all three victims. Criminal Investigations Division also responded to the scene at the time of the call. All written statements were turned over to Investigator Smith.

In Evans? That's wild, especially if this was just a random robbery. More then likely if the family wasn't involved in drugs, then someone close to the family probably knew of guns, jewelry, electronics, cash, or something of value in the home that would interest a group of men to invade the home with guns and rifles in the afternoon with everyone at home inside. That sounds a little strange, but thank god no one was hurt or killed.
ReplyDeleteThis was just very poorly written from a grammatical standpoint. It was choppy and came across as a sad attempt at a very good story. Show's what kind of idiots work for you, and clearly can't get real jobs. I'm just 'stating'...
ReplyDeleteIf someone broke into my house I believe I would know what was taken by what they ransacked. This sounds fishy to me. What did they come for???
ReplyDeleteI agree with comment #2 and we still don't really know what fully happened.
ReplyDeleteComment #2. To be clear, The Jail Report posted the details exactly as they were written from the incident report, except we added the victims' first names in the opening graphs. We wanted a clean look at the report details since there was radio discussion of this crime today on The Austin Rhodes show.
ReplyDeleteWTF is up with all this, just sayin crap? you some board people, just sayin
ReplyDeleteWOW, so I am guessing you people don't have any police officer friends or you would recognize a police report. They have to work quick and be brief and concise in their words to be able to recount facts. It wont flow like war and peace and it won't be as pretty as a mid summers night dream, but it will state what, how, and who....Come on people, your comments are why Jawjah residents get a bad rap for being idiots.....Just Sayin...
ReplyDeleteAll said, they could have corrected any spelling errors......riffles. Please.
ReplyDeleteRifle is a firearm, a riffle is a stream riffle (also known as a swift <-> Stream pool) is a shallow stretch of a river or stream, where the current is above the average stream velocity and where the water forms small rippled waves as a result. Just saying too.
It could be riffles instead of rifles...cause this sounds fishy enough to warrant a riffle, just sayin 2
ReplyDeleteWow@ people arguing over grammatical errors. This is a blog site, not CNN. Ridiculous. Get over yourselves.
ReplyDeleteBuy and learn to use guns and you won't have to cower in a back bedroom while others take your stuff
