James Brown's Capeman has been busted for cocaine possession. (Read the report yourself by clicking the images above.)

Danny Ray, 74, was allegedly caught with drugs shortly after buying it on Mills Street in Augusta on Friday night. Investigators were watching the location and saw Mr. Ray pull up on a 1983 Lincoln Town Car and exchange money with someone for the drug, according to the report.

When officers stopped the suspect's vehicle nearby, Mr. Ray agreed to a search, and they found a loose piece of crack cocaine in his left suit vest pocket, the report states.

Mr. Ray is well-known for introducing soul singer James Brown and bringing out a lavender cape to drape over the singer near the end of a concert.
