North Augusta Killing Appears To Be "Drug Deal Gone Bad"

On Monday evening, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Investigators responded to a shooting incident on the corner of Weston Dr. and Crestlyn Dr. in North Augusta, S.C., that left an Aiken man dead.

The shooting victim has been identified as Paul Joseph Lirley of Aiken, S.C. Mr. Lirley’s death is being considered a homicide investigation, and is being investigated as such by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.


According to Coroner Tim Carlton, the shooting appears to be a drug deal gone bad.
