Prostitute Sought in Augusta Murder

A prostitute is being sought in connection with this morning's stabbing death of a man at the Augusta Super Inn.

Around 4 a.m. today, Richmond County deputies responded to a stabbing call at the Augusta Super Inn on 1602 Gordon Highway. Officers found 43-year-old Jimmy Finley Jackson (bottom photo) lying outside on a walkway with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to MCG ER, where he later died of his injuries.

Investigators are searching for 45-year-old Anna Maria Barrett, also known as "Tattoo" (top photo) in connection with the murder, according to a press release from Lt. Scott Peebles. She is wanted on charges of murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

"Barrett is a known prostitute who frequents hotels on Gordon Hwy. It is believed that robbery is the likely motive," Lt. Peebles said.

Anyone with information concerning Barrett’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1080.

This is Richmond County’s 21st murder of the year. There were 25 murders this time in 2008.
