The owner of an Appling catering business has been charged with furnishing alcohol to a teenager who worked for him, Columbia County authorities said.
Arthur Randall Cliett, 55, of White Oak Road, Appling, was arrested Monday afternoon on the minor offense.
According to a sheriff's report, the father of the 17 year old complained to authorities that his son came home intoxicated and that Mr. Cliett had provided the beer. The teen explained that he had gone to dinner at Las Lomas Mexican Restaurant with his boss on Sunday and had drank two beers that were purchased for him, a sheriff's report states.
Mr. Cliett is the owner of Wisteria Hill Catering in Appling.
