SERIAL RAPIST TOOK A BUS TO AUGUSTA


UPDATE FROM SHERIFF'S OFFICE: It has been confirmed that on Dec. 27, 2009, upon his release from prison, serial rape suspect Charles Anthony James boarded a bus from Valdosta bound for Augusta.

Authorities say Mr. James was mistakenly released from the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was supposed to be sent back to the Richmond County Jail to await trial regarding his June 2008 arrests stemming from the kidnapping, rapes and violent assaults on three women. He is considered extremely dangerous. The suspect goes by Tony James and Tony Jones.

Anyone with information concerning James' whereabouts is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's at 706-821-1080.
