AYDC Employee Charged with Stalking

An employee of the Augusta Youth Detention Center has been charged with stalking his ex-wife.

Patrick Pignotti, 54, of Augusta, was charged last Friday with misdemeanor stalking. (His arrest information and mugshot were released yesterday.)

According to a sheriff's report, the suspect's ex-wife complained that Mr. Pignotti had been sending her harassing emails at her workplace between July 20 and Aug. 12. At least one of the suspect's emails made reference to his ex-wife having an "accident," the report states. The woman said she told Mr. Pignotti to stop contacting her, but he continued.

The man's mugshot shows him with a "Department of Juvenile Justice" logo on his shirt, suggesting he was arrested at work. His position at AYDC was not listed on the report.

We contacted the Richmond County Jail, and they no longer have Mr. Pignotti in custody.
