Zoom Zoom Zoom

It's kind of ironic. Samuel Parker, 21, of Murfreesboro, N.C., didn't want to spend much time in Aiken County and ended up spending a lot of time in Aiken County.

Traveling on Interstate 20 this morning, he was busted for zipping through the county at 101 mph. The high speed (101 in a 70 mph zone) was enough to land him in jail.

After a Highway Patrolman stopped Mr. Parker, the out-of-towner was arrested on a single charge of speeding. He was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center at 9 a.m. today and won't be able to even think about leaving until after a 3 p.m. bond hearing.

Looks like our Highway Patrol friends are starting their annual Labor Day crackdown. We recommend slowing down out there.
