Brother Charged in North Augusta Slaying

A North Augusta man has been charged with killing his older brother this morning, but a charge of involuntary manslaughter against him suggests that police believe the shooting was accidental.

Antonio Middleton, 20, (above) is being held by North Augusta public safety officials in the death of 21-year-old Lee Andrew Middleton. His older brother was found shot in the chest at the bottom of a stairwell at Ridgeview Manor Apartment about 10 a.m. this morning.

The .32-caliber pistol used in the shooting was recovered and secured as evidence from the scene, according to Lt. Tim Pearson with North Augusta Department of Public Safety.
